Yes~!
Southeastern Arizona and Southwestern New Mexico Counties deserve to have a one stop online location to check on the availability of a specific day or weekend when planning to host an event or activity.
Geographically and historically this close-knit collection of cities, towns, villages and communities pull residents from all around to enjoy music, meals and mixers. But also there are art contests, dance recitals, drama programs, farmers markets, new business openings, craft shows ~ well you get the picture.
Back in 2018 and 2019 significant progress was made to accomplish this goal and then came C-19. Public gatherings almost came to a halt, and it required monumental effort on the part of several groups and organizations to bring back public events on an ever increasingly larger scale.
Fast forward to 2025. On three consecutive weekends recently, multiple special events were taking place in our ‘neighborhood’, from Caton County to Grant County, Lordsburg to Willcox, Bowie to Safford, Thatcher to Alpine and of course Duncan, Clifton and Morenci.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if planners and organizers could look at a Five-Year Planning Calendar and see what has already been scheduled? Maybe there is an opportunity to combine advertising and hours of operation with another group nearby?!
The Greenlee Tourism Association (GTA) is ready to host just such a Five-Year Planning Calendar for all non-profit groups, fire districts, churches, government offices, chambers of commerce – you name it, we want to help your event get noticed and be successful. Although membership in the GTA is not required, your participation in this effort through your groups membership will mean this important long term project will benefit our region like a huge billboard in the sky, on the internet, via social media and even mainstream TV & radio and podcasts.
Come join this effort! It is easy. All we need is your group or business name, contact person, event flyer if you have one, and most importantly the date, time and location of your event. Please visit our website Greenlee Arizona Tourism – A tourism guide for Greenlee County, Arizona or jump over to our Facebook page www.facebook.com/GreenleeTourismAssociation which also connects to Instagram, and Twitter (X). Other platforms will be added.
Need help with creating flyers? Want to reach a broader audience? We can help. Plus our monthly newsletter, Discover Greenlee, reaches a very broad audience suited for all three New Mexico Counties that border Greenlee as well as the three Arizona Counties we adjoin. Come join the much-needed platform, no cost to get your event on the calendar.
Be well, be successful,
Akos Kovach, Vice Chairman, GTA
